This shot was initially created for The Gorn by Phil Gorn (the scene was later cut due to plot changes). I worked on Houdini to create the particle growth simulation. I textured to create a crystal, then imported everything into Solaris and rendered with the Karma rendering engine. Finally I moved on to CG Compositing on Nuke, trying to recreate the effect of a microscope.
